Acts Series

At the heart of congregational vitality is the work of God’s Spirit. As we journey together on God’s mission, we will spend the summer with the Holy Spirit by dwelling in the book of Acts and prayer from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Here’s what we’re inviting you to do:

Read the book of Acts, reflect and pray with others throughout the summer for 45 minutes each week in small groups using the weekly guide for the fourteen weeks of summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

When you meet whether 6:30 a.m. at the coffee shop, afternoon on the patio, with one of the scheduled discussion groups, whenever or wherever do the following:

  • Prepare prior to the time you meet by reading on your own the appointed two chapters of Acts for that week
  • Check in with each other: How’s it going? What’s going on? How is the Spirit working in your life this week?
  • Be ready to talk about the two chapters you’ve read and respond to these conversation starters:
    • I notice…
    • I wonder…
    • A teaching or message for me and my congregation…

Close in at least 5 minutes of prayer together:

  • Pray for each other – what was heard when from each other.
  • For the gift of the Holy Spirit, God’s Word, and what you heard, learned, pondered.
  • For purpose, vision, and mission in your lives and for the church.
  • For your families, your community, country and world.
  • For specific people, causes, and concerns
