St. Andrew is excited to be a host congregation for Family Promise of New Braunfels.

Our Family Promise ministry is always seeking to expand our volunteer base. Some of the activities above require interacting with our guests and a short orientation session; but others just require a willingness to help. We would be happy to pair you with a trained volunteer to see if it's something you might be called to do.

Your time commitment? We host four times a year for one week each hosting. We provide dinners (two hour shift), evening hosts (two hour shift), Saturday morning breakfast (two hour shift), and overnight hosting. You choose how often you might wish to volunteer.

Exciting things are happening because of Family Promise. We are a member of the Greater New Braunfels affiliate and have an 80% success rate for helping homeless families back to security. In the future, we'll be working with the New Braunfels Family Partners towards a transitional living campus to bridge the gap from homelessness to permanent housing. More programs are in the works for our recent graduates.

Family Promise is a nonprofit, interfaith nonsectarian organization for families with children in transition. Family Promise is a network of local congregations that serve as hospitality centers offering shelter, meals, and support services to families without homes. Because Family Promise utilizes the space and volunteers of local congregations, it is a cost-efficient and effective solution to family homelessness.

Large Item Donations:
We are doing things a bit differently now with large donations such as furniture. We are now partnering with Comal County Habitat for Humanity Re-Store.

We are asking donors to bring their items to the habitat re-store and state that you want the "credit" to go to Family Promise. Habitat even says if the donor calls, they can coordinate a pick up. Our graduates are then given vouchers in which they can "shop" for items they need. The website is: http://www. We really appreciate this so we can build our points for our families to shop!

As far as your smaller items, we would love to receive those anytime. Someone will be in the office today until 5:00. Thank you for all you do!
